The competition is the main project promoted by the Aldo Morelato Foundation and its Outlook.

In short with this project the Foundation intends to pursue the following aims:

• to stimulate innovation in the furniture sector;
• to identify new trends and scenarios;
• to promote internationally  a production of high quality furniture for professionals in the furniture field and the general public

• to contribute to the re-development of the image of the Verona furniture district.

These targets are ambitious and of strategic interest for the Verona furniture district and are pursued through the implementation of  the following initiatives:
- the International Competition of the “Aldo Morelato Foundation” on applied art in the furniture field  open to designers, students of Academies and Universities as well as to professionals;
- the International Days of Study at Villa Dionisi, symposiums on the international trends in the furniture sector.

To achieve these aims the project intends to involve diverse groups. First of all designers, creative people (without age limit) who will be contacted for participation in the competition; furthermore  companies and operators in the furniture field, who will be especially involved in the International Days of Study and the Acts which will be published after the symposium. But above all it intends to involve the general public which is finally the main goal of this process of requalification  of the culture and the image of the furniture production in the Verona district, a process which at the end will result in an image of an active sector, full of initiatives, and proposals of added value. Communication will take place through the press and exhibitions at furniture fairs (Milan and Verona) and at Villa Dionisi.
